AGM- Safety & Fire for a lignite based power plant


Role & Responsibilities

Plan, implement, and coordinate safety programs, requiring application of engineering principles and technology, to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions during the construction and operation phase of the plant.
  • For the successful completion of the project and ramp up of the plant:
  • Set up process and policy to prevent or correct unsafe working behaviors and working conditions, ensuring that legal requirements as well as RWPL standards are adhered to at all times
  • Review plans and specifications for construction of new machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety requirements have been met.
  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
  • Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment. Review employee safety programs to determine their adequacy.
  • Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
  • Report or review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing.
  • Liaising with officials from the regulatory authorities to ensure the organization is compliant with mandatory regulations, for project construction and ramp up.
  • Assure for internal workers a safety training in all aspects required for the job to be done
  • Set up traffic rules and control in the plant
  • Set up evacuation plan for the site
  • Assure that for first aid, fire fighting arrangement are available on the site 
  • Set up OHSAS - system

Reporting to : Project Head

Qualification & Experience
  • Diploma or Degree in engineering,  Degree in Science in Chemistry or Physics with    post diploma/ diploma in Industrial Safety from Labour Institutes (CLI,RLI) or from State Board of Technical Education.
  • Should have core experience in managing site/plant safety for 10-12 years.
  • Should be familiar with fire safety management
  • Should have knowledge of Indian and International Safety standard 
  • Should have good knowledge of Safety Policy and Safety Plan 
  • Should able to record and investigate accidents
  • Should able to record safety related data and generate reports as per the requirement.
  • Should have imparted Safety training 
  • Should able to develop SHE management system and should able to do health & safety and compliance audits 
  • Candidate having experience of Behavior based safety will be preferred
  • Should have knowledge of OHSAS18001
  • Should have good communication skill and should be a Team player
