Assistant Vice President / Senior General Manager – Maintenance

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
  • To lead a team of executives as per organizational setup for individual’s satisfaction and optimization of performance in respective fields & areas with HR initiatives and competency development.
  • Ensuring high availability of all plants, equipment and systems in the power plant.
  • Minimize cost of maintenance and optimize equipment lifecycle cost
  • The position is responsible for ensuring timely execution of the preventive, predictive, breakdown and shutdown maintenance works for trouble free and efficient operation of the plant.
  • Planning and execution of planned outage and other major activities with quality in schedule time.
  • Fixation of maintenance budget, spare availability with inventory optimization.
  • Concern for safety of men and material with focus on occupational health
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure plant availability, reliability to achieve generation as per target within the quality & safety as per management target
  • Optimize cost on maintenance, contracts and Spares expenses
  • Coordination with maintenance planning, efficiency cell, fuel managements, operation and other departments
  • Ensure prompt response to plant operational requirements
  • Plan and implement Short term, Long term maintenance and overhauling of units as per schedule.
  • Finalize the scope of service contracts
  • Review maintenance contract activities vis-à-vis contract
  • Monitor consumption of spares and consumables.
  • Optimizing inventory required for maintenance activities of the power plant
  • Provide expertise and technical assistance in procurement of spares & equipments.
  • Coordination for IT enablement of maintenance management
  • Ensure schedule, quality, safety are scrupulously implemented in maintenance activities
  • Development of SMP and compliance to SMPs
  • Ensure compliance to statutory requirements as applicable
  • Concern for Ash utilization and environment management
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators of the direct reportees.
  • Conduct Performance Review and feedback.
  • Recruitment functions as per company’s plan and policy
  • Implement special projects like benchmarking, quality circles, energy conservation, 5S
  • Enable the team to perform effectively by delegating / assisting / guiding / counseling / motivating and developing team members.
  • Monitor the status of employee relations in the Department and initiate pre-emptive action to maintain satisfactory / harmonious employee relations.

*Please note that the reporting relationship in case of vacancy in the above position will be to the next immediate superior in the respective department.

GM – Mechanical
GM – Electrical
GM – C&I

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Engineering Graduate in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 22 - 25 years with thermal units of plus 210 MW capacity with India’s leading companies / utilities
  • Cross functional knowledge on Operation, Erection, Mechanical, Electrical, C&I, Engineering, HR and Finance.
