DGM / AGM - Electrical Maintenance (CHP)

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
  • In charge of the electrical maintenance function in Coal Handling plant and Lighting
  • To lead a team as per organizational setup for individual’s satisfaction and optimization of performance in respective fields and areas with HR initiatives and competency development.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure highest availability of the electrical equipments and systems in CHP area
  • To provide prompt support for operational needs of the plant
  • Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance on the basis of Condition Monitoring Group (CMG) data and past equipment history
  • Minimize cost of maintenance and optimize equipment lifecycle cost
  • Ensure availability of spares and other infrastructure for maintenance
  • To find out new materials for spares manufacturing to increase the life and reliability of equipment and systems
  • Minimize response time to the customer (i.e. Operations) for handling routine day-to-day problems
  • Optimize Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR)
  • Assist in Planning and Ensuring timely implementation of Short term and Long term maintenance schedules.
  • Focused monitoring of day to day maintenance activities in area of responsibility
  • Initiating process bottleneck and energy saving modifications
  • Plan resource requirements for maintenance – manpower and materials
  • Ensure schedule, quality, safety are scrupulously implemented in maintenance activities
  • SMPs / PM Check lists development and implementation
  • Ensure implementation of IT enabled maintenance management system
  • Ensure maximum possible use of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) / Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
  • Ensure Regular updating and Preservation of Maintenance record
  • Ensure compliance to statutory requirements as applicable
  • To assist in planning and obtaining budget allocation for maintenance expenses and control the expenditure within budget.
  • Circulating MIS Reports Daily Maintenance Reports, Monthly Reports, Critical Incident Report
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators of the direct reportees.
  • Participate in Performance Review and feedback.
  • Identify training and development needs of the team members, forwarding recommendations
  • Enable the team to perform effectively by delegating / assisting / guiding / counseling / motivating and developing team members.
  • Monitor the status of employee relations in the Department and initiate pre-emptive action to maintain satisfactory / harmonious employee relations.

*Please note that the reporting relationship in case of vacancy in the above position will be to the next immediate superior in the respective department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
·         Manager – Electrical (Lighting)
·         Manager – Electrical (CHP)
·         Manager – Electrical (HT/LT Switch Gear)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • B.E. / B.Tech (Electrical) with minimum of 15-18 years of experience in handling the maintenance of electrical packages of power plant. 
  • Cross functional knowledge on Operation, Erection, Mechanical, C&I and Engineering
